Ready for a spring glow-up? Here’s what you need to know!

After being in hibernation mode for so long, we’re welcoming the warm weather with very open arms. As the sunshine begins to hit our skin and we’re soaking in the Vitamin D, there’s no better time than now for a spring glow-up.

As we shift from winter to spring, it’s the perfect opportunity to step out of the cold with a fresh new look for a YOU that feels good! 

 

Here are a few ways to experience the glow-up of the season.

 

Give your skincare routine a facelift. 

 

We’re leaving dry, winter skin in the past and replacing it with a radiant complexion. 

 

These are a few skincare staples to get you glowing:

 

  • Exfoliate a few times a week to slough off those dead winter skin cells.
  • Incorporate plumping serums such as hyaluronic acid to give your skin a bouncy look.
  • Use a lightweight moisturizer twice daily to keep your skin hydrated and nourished.
  • Apply SPF every morning - even if the forecast calls for clouds - to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

 

Stay hydrated.

 

A potent moisturizer isn’t the only thing keeping your skin hydrated. In order to flaunt that spring glow, you need to hydrate from the inside out. This means you can’t skimp out on your water intake; aim for 100 oz every day. If you can’t fathom drinking 100 oz of plain water, try adding non-caffeinated herbal teas or fruit-infused water into your routine.

You can also incorporate hydrating foods into your diet, such as watermelon, cucumbers, and leafy greens. It sounds like now is the perfect time to indulge in a watermelon feta salad with Kale! 

 

Do a simple wardrobe upgrade.

 

While you may be tempted to upgrade your wardrobe completely when the sun begins to shine, our advice is to keep it simple. Following all of the new season's trends may seem like a good idea, but that’s just the shopping-related dopamine talking. By the time next spring rolls around, you’ll be giving away this year’s trends.

 

Instead of doing a full closet overhaul, freshen up by adding a few new basics in seasonal colors.

Explore the outdoors. 

 

Now that there are more daylight hours and the temperatures are warmer, nature is calling your name. Get outside and enjoy it in any way that you can.

 

Take a brisk walk during your lunch break, go for a quick bike ride, or spend the entire day on a scenic hike. You can incorporate physical outdoor activity into your schedule, no matter how busy you are! 

 

Getting outside and adding additional movement to your day will give you more energy and more endorphins and leave you with a natural, post-workout glow.

 

Give yourself well-deserved self-care.

 

Like any season, take the time to prioritize self-care. When you feel taken care of, you look your best.

Set aside time for daily activities that allow you to recharge and take a break. Self-care looks different for everyone, so try a few things until you figure out what works for you! 

 

Here are a few of our favorite self-care activities you can do in twenty minutes or less: 

  • Read a chapter of your favorite book
  • Do a yoga flow on YouTube
  • Drink a steamy mug of tea on your patio
  • Complete a journaling exercise focused on gratitude and abundance
  • Put down the screens and step away from social media
